What verified revenue means

Verified is money a payment provider confirmed. Pending is an offer that is out. Hyzl never adds the two together, and here is how to read them.

  • reporting
  • method
  • verified revenue

Every tool in this category reports a big number. Ours is smaller than it could be, on purpose, and this post is about the rule that makes it smaller.

Two columns, never one

Your readout splits recovered money in two.

Verified is money a payment provider has confirmed. Stripe settled it, or the store reported it. Nothing enters this column on Hyzl's say-so.

Pending is an offer that is out and has not been paid. A link sent, a discount accepted verbally on a call, a checkout opened. Real work, real intent, no money yet.

We do not add them together, and neither should you. A single total would let a good week of outreach look like a good week of revenue, which is the exact confusion this product exists to remove.

If a number can only be checked against itself, it is not a number. It is a claim.

What the readout does not do

Your dashboard is not running an experiment. It reports revenue attributed to Hyzl in your own billing — it does not hold back a group of your customers and compare. So read it as attribution, which is what it is, and not as proof that the same money would not have arrived anyway.

That distinction matters enough that we mark it on every number we publish.

The three numbers we quote, and how each was measured

NumberIndustryHow it was measured
2.7x the win-back rate of an untouched groupMembers-only datingA three-week holdout. 18.6% came back against 6.9% left alone. Payments verified on the store.
42% of a month's revenue, from 255 of 431 paying customersAward-flight searchAttributed in that app's own billing. It is our app, so we own both the number and the bias.
15 → 25 buyers per 100 paywall visitorsFitness, hard paywallThe first two weeks after switching on. An early result from a short window, not a trend.

Only the first of those compares against people nobody contacted, and even that holdout was run by us on one app, over three weeks. It is internal evidence. It is not a trial an outside party reviewed, and we will not dress it up as one.

The second is attribution, not a holdout. The third is two weeks long, which is short enough that the honest label is "early result" and we use it.

How to read yours in five minutes

  • Start with verified. That is the only figure to take to anyone else.
  • Read pending as a forecast with a shelf life. Offers go stale; check next week whether they converted or expired.
  • Check the people count beside both. Revenue with no one behind it is one large purchase, not a pattern.
  • Open two or three decisions and read the reason line. If the reasons make sense to you, the revenue probably does too.
  • Compare Auto against your Flow over the same window. The readout puts them side by side because the comparison you can run yourself is worth more than the one we ran.

Why bother

Because the alternative is a dashboard you cannot take to your board. Verified money is checkable — it appears in Stripe or in App Store Connect whether or not you believe us, and you can reconcile it line by line. Pending money is useful for planning and worthless as evidence.

One column you can defend beats two columns added together. See what it recovered.
